"LIFE IS MOVEMENT"

Seniors

Over the years, the body changes and tissues wear out, gradually limiting physical capabilities.
Cartilage wears down and becomes thinner, bones become more brittle and therefore weakened, tendons and ligaments lose elasticity... pain sets in with all the consequences that entails: the person no longer moves freely and begins to limit or even stop some of their activities. Their quality of life deteriorates along with their general health, mood, sleep, and social life.
Then follows a kind of resignation and depression: "it's old age!!" as they say in Provence....
However, there is no age limit for taking care of your body.
While it may not keep you eternally young, osteopathy can help older people age well by restoring or maintaining good overall osteoarticular mobility.

OBJECTIVES OF OSTEOPATHY FOR SENIORS:

The main objective is to combat pain.
To achieve this, your osteopath has several missions:
- Prevent degenerative risks (osteoarthritis, osteoporosis) by maintaining good joint mobility.
- To gradually restore satisfactory mobility while respecting the physical and physiological capabilities of the person according to their pathologies.
- Combat degenerative processes by modifying certain postures (see the senior posture tab) and/or by correcting poor lifestyle habits through hygiene and dietary advice.

Fighting pain means:
- Combating the loss of autonomy,
- to limit the risk of falls,
- to restore better sleep,
a better appetite,
improved morale
improved digestion
- Limit the intake of pain medication: paracetamol, anti-inflammatories, corticosteroids, morphine...
- to delay or even avoid orthopedic surgical interventions.

I would be able to adapt to my patient's state of health by choosing gentle and appropriate methods to best address their reason for consultation.
It is advisable to consult once or twice a year to anticipate the occurrence of age-related problems.
